This stunning AJAX Nu Sound floor tom, model 6983, is from the 1960s. Ajax were a highly renowned British drum making company, second only to Premier. The NuSound was their final line of drums before the brand 'disappeared' around 1970. The drum is fantastic, with all 16 original 'A' Lugs, 3 'A' Leg Brackets, tension rods and legs. I believe the top hoop to be original, and the bottom hoop may be a Rogers deep hoop.
The drum is in good condition, some minor marks, and sadly the badge is missing. The floor tom is 16" x 16", finished in a lovely black oyster finish (similar to the Ringo Starr finish!)
