This is a rare beauty! This vintage snare drum from the Chicago based Wilson Brothers Drum Co. dates back to the 1920s. A superbly made drum, its nickel over brass 14x4” shell is warm and snappy, with its unique strainer that is attached to the hoop and not the shell!
Its NOB is uniquely paired with an internal wood ply (see photos). With all original parts, 6 double tube lugs, original tension rods and claws, 3-point screw tension strainer.
The drum has been given a platinum service, and comes fitted with a brand new Evans Calftone batter head, and a Everplay vintage snare side head, and a set of vintage Premier snare wires to add to the vintage character of this stunning snare drum.
As you can see in the last photo, there is a small crack in the nickel bead of the snare. This is purely cosmetic.
